Phosphatidylcholine

IV Therapy

Phosphatidylcholine PK therapy - neuropathy, high cholesterol, heart disease, pulmonary sclerosis, MS, fatty liver disease

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) IV Therapy and the APK Protocol Infusion represent just a couple of the various IV therapies available at Arukah Functional Wellness.  Our team of healthcare professionals is focused on functional and regenerative modalities, bringing years of expertise to the Northeastern Ohio region.

What is Phosphatidylcholine IV Therapy?

Phosphatidylcholine IV Therapy is a cutting-edge medical treatment aimed at tackling various health issues by directly infusing phosphatidylcholine into the body.

What is Phosphatidylcholine?

Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a lipid that occurs naturally in the body constitutes a large part of our cell membranes-nearly 80%!  What makes our cell membranes so vital?  Human cell membranes play essential roles for a variety of reasons:

  • Cell Protection: Acting as a defensive barrier, cell membranes enclose the contents of the cell, shielding them from the outside environment. They are essential for preserving the cell's structure and preventing harmful substances from entering.
  • Controlled Permeability: Cell membranes possess selective permeability, which means they regulate the flow of substances into and out of the cells. This function enables the cell to manage the exchange of nutrients, ions, and waste, ensuring internal stability (homeostasis).
  • Cell Signaling: Cell membranes are key players in communication between cells. They house receptors that can identify and bind to specific signaling molecules, which enables cells to detect and respond to various external cues.
  • Transport: Cell membranes assist in the movement of vital molecules such as glucose and amino acids into the cell, while also facilitating the removal of waste products, including carbon dioxide, from the cell. Additionally, they are involved in the transport of ions, which is crucial for nerve impulses and muscle contractions.
  • Cell Identification: Unique markers known as antigens or glycoproteins are present on the surfaces of cell membranes. These markers enable the immune system to differentiate between "self" and "non-self" cells, aiding in immune responses and protection against pathogens.
  • Cell Binding: Cell membranes allow cells to adhere to one another, forming tissues and organs. Adhesion proteins located within the membrane are critical to this process.

In summary, cell membranes are vital for preserving the structure, functionality, and communication of cells, which are the basic building blocks of life in our bodies.  This is particularly significant for individuals with neurological disorders.

Phosphatidylcholine Benefits

Phosphatidylcholine provides a variety of health advantages:

  • Liver Health: As a key element of liver cell membranes, phosphatidylcholine is thought by some to enhance liver function and offer protection against specific liver issues through IV therapy.  Nevertheless, additional studies are required to confirm these possible benefits.
  • Cholesterol Management: Some evidence indicates that phosphatidylcholine could assist in reducing LDL cholesterol while increasing HDL cholesterol, which may contribute to better cardiovascular health.  However, these claims are not well-established and need further investigation.
  • Brain Health: Phosphatidylcholine plays a role in Producing acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that is crucial for memory and cognitive abilities.  Some individuals think that IV therapy may enhance cognitive function, but further research is necessary to validate these claims.
  • Detoxification:  Supporters argue that phosphatidylcholine IV therapy can facilitate the body's detoxification processes, helping to remove toxins.  Additionally, many people report that it is beneficial in alleviating symptoms associated with chronic diseases and autoimmune conditions.

What to Expect From Phosphatidylcholine IV Therapy

A Standard session of Phosphatidylcholine IV Therapy consists of an intravenous infusion that administers phosphatidylcholine straight into the circulatory system.  This process generally lasts between 1 to 2 hours and is conducted by a qualified healthcare professional in a comfortable clinic environment

Possible Phosphatidylcholine Side Effects

Although Phosphatidylcholine IV Therapy is typically regarded as safe, certain individuals might encounter side effects like slight discomfort, swelling around the injection area, or feeling of nausea.  These effects are often short-lived, but it is crucial to talk to a healthcare professional about them to create a tailored care strategy.

Why Should You Consider Phosphatidylcholine IV Therapy?

Phosphatidylcholine IV Therapy may serve as an effective means to improve health, aid in recovery, and promote general well-being.  This treatment could be suitable for individuals dealing with chronic conditions or those seeking to enhance their body's innate healing abilities.

Typical Cost of Phosphatidylcholine Treatment

The typical cost of Phosphatidylcholine treatment depends on the specific needs of a person, but the starting cost of a PC infusion is approximately $3,000 for a program that includes 10 treatments in total.  Scroll down further for a more detailed cost analysis

When Can You Expect Results?

Results from Phosphatidylcholine IV Therapy can be felt immediately or may take several weeks to fully manifest, depending on individual conditions and treatment goals.  Regular sessions may be recommended to maintain or enhance the benefits.

What is APK Protocol Infusion Therapy

Arukah's version of the PK Protocol  developed by Dr. Patricia Kane, PhD, this IV Infusion facilitates the regeneration of cells in the liver, skin, nerves, gut, and immune system, enhancing cellular health and functionality.

This therapy is recognized for alleviating the symptoms associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, chronic hepatitis B, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), and Ulcerative Colitis.  Additionally, it can lead to improvements in skin conditions, brain function, and fat metabolism.  Clinical studies indicate that this form of treatment is particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from mold toxicity or those facing neurological problems due to chronic toxicity or infection.  Furthermore, initial research indicates that PK Protocol IV Therapy might aid in the reduction of fat deposits.

Here's How it Works

At Arukah, we use a modified PK protocol using:  phosphatidylcholine and Glutathione.  Some will choose to add additional regenerative nutrients such as B vitamins and Alpha-lipoic Acid.  We also recommend a nutritional plan to further benefit your healing journey.

Phosphatidylcholine PC W/Glutathione Cost & Treatment

Arukah’s PC infusion is $300 per infusion.

How is it administered?

Typically a 30 minute to one hour infusion of PC given 1-2 times per week. A minimum of 10 treatments are recommended.

Most patients begin to notice significant health benefits between 8-10 treatments. This is why we recommend the initial treatments in a 1-2 month timeframe, so that you and your provider can evaluate this therapy benefit in a timely fashion. On average, most patients find peak benefit after an average of 20 treatments.

Thereafter, some patients may elect to continue monthly maintenance doses for certain conditions such as high cholesterol, heart disease and/or neurologic conditions like Parkinson’s and MS. IV Glutathione is given right after PC therapy for additional therapeutic and regenerative benefits.
